5. Talk Back to Your Inner Critic
Itâs a common mistaken belief that the better you get to know yourself, the worse youâll feel about yourself, because youâll uncover all your nasty faults and negative thoughts. Yet the converse tends to be true.
When you take time to tune in to your thoughts and feel your feelings, you get the opportunity to challenge negative notions and reframe inaccurate beliefs with a more positive and accurate self-view. It may be easier to ignore thoughts and feelings for fear of what you might find. But doing the work to shift your attitude is worthwhile, as your new way of thinking can become habitual and helpful.
